Every week on Facebook and Instagram, we feature a local adoptable pet in our much-loved segment called Pet of the Week. We’ve gathered all of May’s featured pets here so you can meet (and share) them all at once!
Note: While we try to make sure this post is always up-to-date, sometimes a pet gets adopted before we have a chance to make the necessary edits. Please check the linked website for more information on the current availability of each pet.
May 4: Lotus
Lotus is an affectionate Siamese who loves to play with anyone and everyone - person, cat, or dog (dog tails are really fun). She is happiest when she’s cuddling and she likes to tell you with vivacious purrs and cute little meows. Sweet Lotus is now a mama to 5 little lotus dumplings! With a mama this great, we know she’ll raise her kittens to be little bao bao (“precious babies”). Lotus is currently in a foster home with her new dumplings but she and her family are still looking for forever homes to call their own.
Lotus is an adult female Siamese cat who is good with kiddos, cats, and dogs. Lotus can be adopted through the Alabama Animal Welfare Coalition.

May 11: Kourtney and Khloe Pawdashian
UPDATE: Kourtney found her forever family! Khloe is still looking for some new digs.
The Pawdashian sisters are quite the pair. At 9 and 10 years old, these senior girls have lived a wild life — now they’re ready for a quiet (yet cushy) retirement. Both girls are house- and crate-trained and would love to spend their last few party years together.
Kourtney Pawdashian is the younger of the two sisters and is all about taking life easy. She’s a true cuddlebug who loves to give kisses and soak up all the attention. If there’s a spotlight, you better believe Kourtney will be in it!
As the older sister, Khloe is all about staying out late to play. Boys are fun but shopping is better! In her spare time, Khloe likes to add to her fierce collection of tennis balls and chew toys. A girl can never have too many toys, right?
Kourtney and Khloe are both female senior mixed breeds who are good with dogs, cats, and kiddos. They are adoptable through the Animal Rescue Foundation of Mobile, AL.

Though she can be a bit shy at first, Monica loves a chance to be the center of attention. As a purveyor of fine treats and tasty foods, she will never say no to something yummy. If you’re looking for a strong and caring kitty who will be your steadfast friend, come sit down with Monica over a cup of coffee and let her win your heart!

May 25: Emma
Are you looking for a steadfast companion? A couch buddy or a walking partner? If all of the above sound good, then sweet Emma is your girl. She may have a few years under her belt, but that only means she’s got the house dog routine down pat! Emma will melt your heart with her big smile and little bobtail. She loves hanging out with people and would love a retirement home with a human to call her own. Don’t pass over Emma just because she’s older — senior dogs still have lots of love to give!
